Pets Available for Adoption

A Note About Adoptions & Available Pets

Available LSPCA pets are always listed on PetFinder here. LSPCA’s mission is to help the Lancaster County Animal Shelter though fostering, networking and transporting. Due to limited staffing, LSPCA  processes very few local adoptions.

If you are looking to adopt, please be sure to check out all of the available animals at the Lancaster County Animal Shelter by clicking on the link below.

Note that the shelter has their own adoption application, fee schedule, and process. Please contact the shelter (www.LancasterShelterSC.com) if you are interested in any of the pets shown on the shelter website.

LSPCA Adoption Process

The adoption process is as follows:

LSPCA IS NOT a shelter. All animals are placed in foster homes until a permanent home or partner rescue is found. If you are interested in meeting one of our pets, please complete an Adoption Application online. Once approved, we will set up a meet and greet at a mutually agreeable time.

If you are interested in fostering, please complete a Foster Application.

Adoption Fees:

Puppies: $200.00 - Includes full veterinary exam, spay/neuter, microchip, deworming and age-appropriate vaccines.

Adult Dogs / Seniors:  $200.00 - Includes veterinary exam, heartworm test, geriatric blood work (if needed), spay/neuter, microchip, deworming, rabies vaccine and adult booster.

Important Information:
*For cats/kittens: We have a strict NO DECLAW policy and will not adopt an animal to a home that intends to declaw.

*We require that all animals already residing in the home be up-to-date on all vaccines and must be spayed or neutered prior to LSPCA placing a new pet in the home.

*A home visit and vet reference will be conducted by one of our volunteers before an animal is placed in the home.
