Thank you to our Community Partners!
LSPCA Mission Statement
Lancaster SPCA is a nonprofit, all-volunteer animal rescue dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and adoption of homeless pets in the Lancaster County area. We take in the critically ill, abused, neglected, and injured animals that would have little or no chance of survival without our intervention. LSPCA ensures that each one receives the best possible veterinary care, then we focus on getting those animals temporarily fostered until adopted into a loving home or transported to a rescue partner.
Our Mission:
-
To build a community where people value animals and treat them with respect and kindness.
-
To assist the Lancaster County Animal Shelter by providing supplies and funds for medical care, fosters, networking to rescue groups, photography, social media exposure to showcase available animals, and transport to rescues around the country in an effort to find "furever" homes for animals to reduce shelter overcrowding.
-
Provide services and resources for community residents to assist in the proper care of pets, including a low-cost spay and neuter program to help control the overpopulation of homeless pets to reduce and ultimately eliminate euthanasia within our shelters. In addition, distribute pet food to anyone in need, provide dog houses (when available), straw bedding for outdoor pets, and animal-care education.
-
Provide care and fostering for critical medical cases and those animals in immediate need or danger.
-
Provide educational programs designed for our youngest citizens to promote the ethical treatment of animals and the importance of spaying and neutering.
-
To act as an advocate for all animals to lend them a voice in the community concerning legislation and protections under the law to ensure those who mistreat, dump, abandon or fail to provide medical care are prosecuted. Additionally, we strive to eliminate animal cruelty, dogfighting, puppy mills, and the like to protect animals from inhumane treatment.
